Spicy Kerala Beef Curry

Spice Mix:

Dry roast all the spices together and then grind in a mill. Set aside.

Heat the coconut oil in a pressure cooker. Then place onions, ginger, garlic and curry leaves. Saute until onions are translucent.

Now add the turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder. Stir well.

Add a little bit of water. Stir and cook for about a minute.

Add tomatoes and green chillies and stir well. Cook for about 1 minute.

Add the beef and salt. Stir well.

Now add just enough water to cover the beef. Not too much. Cover and cook according to your pressure cooker instructions. My one takes about 20 to 25 minutes on setting 2.

Once the pressure is down, open the pan and place it on a medium flame again. Add the milk.

Add the spice mix and stir well. At this point if there is too much gravy, simmer on a high flame until it reaches a nice, thick consistency. If the gravy is nice and thick already, just cook for a further 2 to 3 minutes.

The beef is done! Goes well with rice, rotis, string hoppers, bread and parathas.
